A compromise is an agreement or a settlement

A compromise is an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions.

A compromise is an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions. We make compromises all the time whether it is with a spouse, a child, a friend, or even at work. We make these concessions so that things will go smoothly. The one thing we should never do is make compromises in our belief in God. When we accept our LORD and believe in Him it occurs on our emotional level. Then as we learn more about the LORD God Almighty, we learn right from wrong. As we grow, we start reading the Bible and from the Bible we learn how to live out our lives. From the Bible we learn about the 10 Commandment which are found in Exodos 20. James 3 tells us not to gossip. Galatians 5:22 shows us how to act. The Golden Rule is found in Matthew 7:12 and the 2 Great Commandments are Matthew 22:36-40. Then if you read Numbers and Deuteronomy, found in the Old Testament, you find more requirements of how to live your life in accordance with God’s way. Nowhere in the readings of the Bible does it tell us to compromise or make concessions. Romans 12:2a reads, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind...” Our God has shown us how to live out our lives. The question is, are we following God’s guidelines or are we making the guidelines fit to what we want and what we want to do? It is something to think about. God Bless.
