A refuge is a condition of being safe

A refuge is a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble. The Biblical understanding comes from the Old Testament and refers to God as our refuge. Psalms 62:8 says, “Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.” Psalm 46:1 reads, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Psalm 91:2 tells us, “I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust.” Scripture reminds us that God is our refuge always and forever. Thus we can say, when we are down our Lord lifts us up. When we are hurting our God surrounds us with His love and peace. When we are fearful, He incircles us in calmness. When we are lost, He infuses us with strength and hope. And in times of trouble, our Lord gives us clarity of mind to deal with the situation at hand. Our God is the one sure thing in this life of ours. He sustains us and holds us in the palm of His hand. He is there when nothing else on this earth is and we are in need of a refuge. Remember no matter what happens in life, God is our refuge. A very help in times of trouble. God Bless. Amen.
