A Setback is Just a Delay.

Don't let a setback to diminish your hope.

March 1, 2026

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13 NIV)

Have you found that at times, we allow temporary setbacks to diminish our mindset due to fear, a lack of perspective, and cognitive biases that mistake a temporary delay for permanent setbacks.  Learning not to allow temporary setbacks to diminish our optimism about our future is the key.  Because setbacks can feel like definitive failures rather than detours.

Setbacks are inevitable, they are temporary that manifest as personal, professional, or financial challenges. Common examples include struggles at work, loss of job, health issues, broken relationships, financial distress, and emotional struggles.  What we must learn, what we must rememberis a setback is not final unless you stay down.

God calls us to rise, learn, and keep moving forward in faith.  For God is the God of hope.  Who fills us with peace and gives us joy in the midst of life’s setbacks.  As we trust in the Lord, hope floats upward and the power of the Holy Spirit runs through us, giving us strength and courage.  And the setback that caused us to get stuck no longer control us and we understand it is not the end—it is a setup for something greater.  Because a setback is not the final destination, it is the beginning of something new for with God on our side we will overcome. God Bless.  Amen
