A virtue is a positive character trait. Virtues are often seen in a person who has a good and fulfilling life. These qualities are revealed in the person’s personal or related to moral behavior, and they are also seen within the person’s relationships. Some common virtues include honesty, compassion, courage, justice, kindness, patience, consideration, gratitude, helpfulness, and perseverance. Some of these qualities are found in the Fruit of the Spirit. The Fruit of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22) The fruit of the Spirit are important because they are considered evidence of a genuine relationship with God, showing a person’s transformation by the Holy Spirit. They are seen as a reflection of God’s nature and a way to live a life that brings hope and life to others. These qualities are pretty similar to virtues, but the difference is the Fruit of the Spirit demonstrates that a person is living in accordance to God’s will, rather than to their OWN sinful nature. As believers in God, the journey of getting out of our SELF and putting God and others first is the manifestation of the Fruit of the Spirit in one’s life. And isn’t that what we are to strive for. Developing a better relationship with God. Thus, the Fruit of the Spirit appear in our lives. God Bless. Amen.
