And God said, “Lo I am with you, always and forever.” Today’s question, “What is the worst thing that can happen to you?” You lose your job, you get in a car wreck, you are diagnosed with a terminal illness, someone you love dies. Yes, these are all really horrible situations, and none of us want these things to happen. In fact, some of us fear this happening in our own life. Life is and can be very difficult and scary to deal with. In life, we have moments of joy that are accented by times of undeniable pain and heartache, but this is how life goes. Scripture tells us, “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” (Isaiah 58:11) “Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) Thus, when life throws rocks your way, remember God is there. When life brings death, know that God is there. When life brings illness, know that God is there. When you lose your job, know God is there. He is the one sure thing in this life of ours. He will see us through the good times, as well as the extremely hard times. Our God is the God of personal relationships. Turn to Him. He will give you the strength you need. God Bless. Amen.
