Are you thankful for what is happening in your life?

August 30, 2023

Are you thankful for what is happening in your life? Sometimes it is hard to be thankful. Especially, when things are not going your way, when life hits you in the gut, it is hard to find things to be thankful for. What are you thankful for? How has God blessed you? Or can you see anything in your life that is a blessing? I am thankful for my husband, my children, my step-children, my daughters-in-laws, my grandchildren, my siblings, my in-laws, my friends, my health, the clothes I wear, the food I eat, where I live, the gifts God has given me, my dog! But I do not always tell God this—give thanks. Sometimes, I take everything for granted. Then, somethings happens. I pray and begin to count my blessings. Psalms 105:1 reminds us, “Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.” Ephesians 5:20 reads, “Always give thanks to God the Father for everything. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” Today, let us give thanks, even in our struggles, those fearful and painful moments. Let us count our blessing. Let us praise His Holy Name. For this is the day that the LORD has made let us rejoice and be glad in it! Give thanks! God Bless. Amen.
