“Be part of the solution, not the problem,”

Be part of the solution, not the problem,” my father would say to me.

“Be part of the solution, not the problem,” my father would say to me. This saying means actively working to improve a situation, rather than just contributing to it or being part of the problem. It is thinking before doing, acting or speaking. It is being accountable for your actions and not following along as a sheep is lead to slaughter. It is about making constructive contributions and taking responsibility for a positive change. It is understanding you can and will make a difference by what you say, do, and respond to each situation in your life. Ephesians 4:29 reads, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Proverbs 15:1 says, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” James 1:19-20 tells us, “Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Just because, at times, it is easier to follow the crowd, being influenced by the world, movies, TV, gossip does not mean you should follow along with what you are being told. God gave each of us a mind to think with. A Bible to follow to show us right from wrong. For the Bible does not change just because someone tells us it is OK. Therefore, be part of the solution, not the problem. Stand up for what is right and true, for that never changes. God Bless. Amen.
