“But be very careful to keep the commandment and law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Joshua 22:5) What does this scripture mean to you? When you read this scripture, do you say to yourself, “I live my life this that.” or do you just do some of the things that God requires of you—when it is convenient? The 10 Commandments are the Law of Moses. They are found in Exodus 20, they are: 1. You shall have no other god’s before me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy. 5. Honor your father and mother. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. 10. Thou shalt not covet. These laws are for us to follow. They are part of our relationship with God, for they show us how to be better people and live a Godly life. Sometimes, we forget that our relationship with God is a relationship where both parties interact with one another. It is not a one sided relationship! God loves us and wants us to have a personal relationship with him and that takes time to develop. As you grow closer to God, you want to do the things this scripture asks of you, because you love the LORD. And the more you love the LORD the more the LORD is revealed in your life. It is something we all need to remember. It is something we all need to strive for, for this is what the Lord has asked us to do. God Bless. Amen.
