Cast Your Cares Upon God.

When anxiety clouds your mind, humble yourselves before God.

May 17, 2026

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.  Casting all your cares upon him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV)

This scripture offers comfort and encouragement to us.  The first part of this verse tells us to “humble” to humble ourselves—by submitting to God’s sovereign control rather than relying on self-reliance or pride.  Humble ourselves before the Lord!  For if we turn to God in all things, through letting go and letting God, He will lift us up at the right time.  For it is God’s time always, not ours.

“Casting all your cares” encourages us to be intentional about giving everything to God, worries, anxiety, fear, frustration, anger, confusion, we are to give them into God’s care.  Because God cares about us.

For God is active in our lives.  He is not a distant observer.  This scripture reveals it through these words, “because God cares for you” is truth.  Life might not be going our way, but when we turn to God, when we rely upon God, when we cast our cares upon God, things go smoother.  Life is better.

Martin Luther said, “Pray, and let God worry."  C. S. Lewis said, “I have found that the best way to get rid of my fears is to give them to God.” Oswald Chambers said, “All our disquietude is because we do not take God into our calculations.”

Billy Graham said, “Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God.”  Today, let us cast our cares upon God!  God Bless. Amen.
