Compassionate is a feeling or showing sympathy and concern for others. Are you a compassionate person? Do you show kindness, mercy and compassion toward others? Or do you get irritated with other—getting frustrated and angry? When driving in a car if someone is driving recklessly and out of control how do you respond? When walking down a crowded street. Where people are cutting in front of you and pushing you out of the way, how do you respond? When waiting in line and someone cuts in front of you how do you respond? When you are in a grocery store and someone is eating the fruit before paying for it do you confront them? Colossians 3:12 reads, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Sometimes in life we get into situations where we want to say and do things that can and will hurt another person. Just because you think of something does not give you the right to voice your opinion nor act upon it. Because sometimes things are not what you think they are. A person driving fast and reckless could be on the way to the ER. A person walking in a crowded street could be lost. A person who cuts in front of you might not have known you were waiting in line. A person eating fruit in a grocery store could be poor and in need of food. Sometimes things are not what they seem. “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” (Hebrews 13:2) It is something to remember. God Bless. Amen.
