The Lord is with you, do not be afraid!

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13 NIV)
In this verse God reassures His people to not be afraid because He is physically holding their hand. It also is a direct promise of assistance during hard times.
It is around 1996 I am heading west on 23rd going toward Oklahoma City. I have just left Nicoma Park. I need to visit some people in the hospital. There are cars in front of me and a couple of cars to my left. Traffic is moving, if I wanted to pass, I couldn’t. A car is speeding up behind me. This car is going very fast. It is going to hit me. The scary part for me is there is nowhere to go. I get ready for impact. I took my foot off the gas. I lay down onto the passenger seat to protect myself from the impact and yell, “Help me God!”
This all happened within less than 5 seconds. Nothing happened. I sit up; there are no cars behind me. I did not get hit. I have no idea where that car went because it could not have gone around me. I believe God helped me. I believe He held onto me and saved me.
Sometimes we forget God is there. This verse reminds us that God is not a distance God. He takes hold of our right hand giving us strength and support in times of need. Some might say this didn’t happen. Some will say it did. All I know was God’s presence was with me that day. “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” God Bless. Amen.
