Every night I pray for a list of people—government officials, family, friends, and acquaintances. This is called intercessory prayer—the act of praying to God on behalf of others. It involves lifting up the needs, challenges, and joys of others before God. There are different types of prayer. Intercessory is just one type of prayer. Prayer is how we communicate with God Has anyone ever said to you, “I am praying for yo. u.” It feels good and comforting. We all like to hear that someone is praying for us. Throughout the Bible we find that someone is praying, or we are told to pray. For example in Matthew 6:7a it reads, “And when you pray…” Today, pray for 10 people. Lift them up to God. If you want, you can tell the person you said a prayer for them today. It just might make that person’s day. Remember there is power in prayer. God Bless. Amen.
