Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that something or someone is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat to our wellbeing. When we are fearful, we tend to react to a situation—instead of responding to the situation at hand. Fear can also stop us in our tracks, keeping us from thinking clearly. When we are in a state of fear it is hard to be reasoned with let alone trying to calm down our fearful spirit. Lamentations 3:57 reads, “You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” Psalm 34:4 tells us, “I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” Hebrews 13:6 says, “The LORD is my helper, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?” Today, if you are struggling with fear go to a safe place, pray (say the Lord’s prayer over and over), read the Bible, listen to Christian music, be still, know that the LORD is God, He is there with you. God gave you coping skills, no matter what life throws your way—even fear. God can and will give you the peace and clarity of mind you need to face the situation at hand. Remember fear that controls or limits your life can rob you of the moment you are in and God’s amazing grace. God’s word offers us solutions to our problems and assurance from a loving God. God Bless. Amen.
