Focus on God not Self!

The things we do today can make our tomorrows better!

May 11, 2026

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…”(Ephesians 5:15-16a NIV)

“Be very careful” implies a level of precision and vigilance.  It means looking around and being fully aware of where you are stepping to avoid pitfalls.  Which means walk with wisdom, ensuring daily conduct aligns with what God has called you to be and do, rally than flying by the seat of your pants, thus avoiding folly.

“Making the most of every opportunity” means rather than drifting through life aimlessly, make plans, be focus on the moment you are in, be a vessel for God to use daily, and make the most out of every situation, whether it is good, bad, or ugly.

Think about it, actions taken today, however small, build habits and character that shape your future.  Such as simple things, smile, laugh, be positive.  Look for the good in all situations and circumstances—don’t just focus on the bad and the ugly.  If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all.  Be kind, put God and others first in all that you do.  Lift others up, don’t just focus on their flaws.  Think about trying to make another person’s life better, not just concentrating on what you want.  When you do these simple things your attitude changes.  For what you do today can improve all your tomorrows.

It is something for us all to try.  God Bless.  Amen.
