God is our Refuge and Shield.

God is and can be our all in all.

September 25, 2026

“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” (Psalms 119:114 KJV)

Life can get pretty hectic, crazy, overwhelming, frustrating, and hard to deal with at times.  Sometimes, in life, we need a place to go, where we can decompress from life’s problems.  In this scripture it tells us that “God is our refuge.”  God provides a safe, secure shelter where fears and life’s problems cannot control us.

“God is our shield.” God gives us peace when life is chaotic.  God gives us wisdom when life is confusing. God gives us guidance when life is heading in the wrong direction.  God give us strength when we are weakened by life’s demands.  God gives us joy when life steals it from us.  God gives us patience when life is intolerable.  God gives us love when we feel unlovable.  God gives us kindness when life is filled with rudeness.  God shows us gentleness when life is mean.   God offers active protection and defense during difficult times.

And because of who and what God is we learn to put “our hope in God’s word.”  For true confidence and peace come from trusting God’s reliable and unchanging promises.

Today, no matter what problems come your way remember God is our refuge and our shield. And when we put our hope in God’s word, we are better able to handle anything life throws our way.  For God is our all in all, a very presence in times of trouble.  God Bless. Amen.
