“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of others, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV)

           “Be strong and courageous” means moving forward in faith because you trust in God.  You do not just rely on your own power, you have the faith God will see you through the situation at hand.

           We all have felt afraid or terrified at one time or another in our lives.  These feelings can occur when life becomes uncertain.  They are feelings that are real, but when we rely upon God, we are able to move forward with confidence because we know that God is with us and will not leave us.  Fear no longer holds us down, because our faith in God overcomes our fear.  

           God will never leave us nor forsake us can be hard for us to comprehend.  Think about it, God will never give up on us.  Let it sink in, God is always with us.  For God offers relentless, unconditional love, maintaining a constant presence in every moment of our day.  Pursuing us despite our mistakes, sins, or feelings of abandonment.

           This scripture offers us hope and encourages us to trust God, even during the most difficult times, even when we do not feel Him.  For we can stand on the promise God will never leave us or forsake us. God Bless. Amen.
