God Transcends the Yuckiness of Life.

Peace occurs when you focus on God!

July 18, 2026

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 ESV)

Life happens.  Broken relationships occur, abuse exists, assault may knock on your door, drugs and alcohol are a part of every family, loss of a job transpire, terminal illnesses arise, and death will happen to us all.  Life is life. Life is filled with pain and heartache but there are also amazing and wonderful moments too.  When the yuckiness of life takes place, when anxiety, fear, frustration occurs, you do wonder how you lost your peace.

In the verse for today it deals with guarding your heart.  Because there are times in our life where our peace is gone. We try to obtain it, but to no avail. I have found the only true way you can find peace—that peace that passes all understanding is through God.  For the ultimate result of this is rooting yourself in God.

God replaces your anxiety, fear, and frustration with peace through a spiritual shift.  This process transforms your focus from the problem to God.  Prayer moves the problems from your shoulders to God. Your focus shifts from chaotic circumstances to God and God’s peace.

So, when you say, “Help me, Lord!”  God transcends the situation and gives you peace.  Sometimes peace comes instantly and other times you have to keep praying. But the more you focus on God, the more your problems shrink, your fear loses its grip, and God’s supernatural peace takes its place.  It is something for us to remember.  For the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  God Bless. Amen.
