Good communication is the foundation to any good

Good communication is the foundation to any good relationship—whether it is with your spouse, a child, a friend, a co-worker or God.

Good communication is the foundation to any good relationship—whether it is with your spouse, a child, a friend, a co-worker or God. Sometimes though we lose sight of how important communication is. We begin to assume the other person knows what we are thinking. When, in fact that person has no idea! No one can read your mind. If we know it is important to develop good communication skills, why is it that we do not work on our communication with others? Maybe we are afraid to be open because we do not want to be judged or criticized. So, we hold back—but in the long run it only hurts you and your relationship. Or are we afraid to let others in because it is all we have to offer, and we are in fear of being rejected! Here is the thing, good communication has to do with being open, sharing how we feel, and what we are thinking, doing so creates trust. Psalm 37:30 reads, “The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.” Then Proverbs 12:25 says, “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.” It is something to think about. Today, try being open with those around you, even God! You will be glad you did. God Bless. Amen.
