Have you ever lied about something, to help

Have you ever lied about something, to help you out of a situation?

November 25, 2023

Have you ever lied about something, to help you out of a situation? Have you ever fabricated a story, to help you out so that others will see you in a different light? Have you ever told a partial truth, so you can save-face? The sad part about this is we all have done this at one time or another in our life. The reason we lie, fabricate a story, or even tell a half-truth is we want the others to see us for good not bad. We want their approval. We want them to like us. Lies are always about us or what we want. Proverbs 19:9 reads, “A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.” Then Proverbs 6:16-19 says, “There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among his brothers.” Today, think before you speak and ask yourself, “is this going to help or hurt another person? Will me lying, fabricating a half-truth, help the situation in anyway?” Remember, sometimes not saying anything at all is the best choice! Or as my father would say, “What do you think?” By saying those 4 words, the other person will answer the question for themself. Thus no lying occurs. God Bless. Amen.
