Have you ever spoken cruel and hateful words

Have you ever spoken cruel and hateful words out of anger?

June 14, 2023

Have you ever spoken cruel and hateful words out of anger? Were these words, spoken to a loved one, a co-worker, a friend? How did you feel afterwards, after you said those hurtful things? Did it make you feel better? Words spoken either can build a person up or can tear a person down. Words used in a mean and hateful way can hurt. In fact, once a word is said, it can never be retracted or withdrawn. Therefore we can say, tit-for-tat never gets us anywhere, in fact, it only adds fuel to the fire. There is a saying, “If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all” this is true and important for us all to remember. So let us be careful with our words. Let us think before we speak remembering, a kind word can revive someone’s spirit and help convey that there is good. Proverbs 15:1 reads, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” It is something for us all to remember. God Bless. Amen.
