He Will Leads Us.

The Lord is our Shepherd.

March 19, 2026

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” (Psalm 23:6 ESV)

In this scripture the word “surelymeans certainly, truly, or without a doubt.  It acts as a confident affirmation, indicating that God is true, firm, and active, rather merely possible or temporary.  It assures the believer that God’s love and His understanding will follow us through life, regardless of circumstances.

The word “goodnessrefers to God’s active, daily provision, favor, and blessings in our lives.  It signifies pleasant and good things, often contrasted with difficult circumstances, assuring us of God’s tangible kindness and care is with us throughout our lives.

The word “mercyrefers to God’s steadfastness, forgiveness, loyalty, and covenantal love, rather than just pity.  It signifies unstoppable kindness and forgivness that withholds the punishment or judgment that we deserve.  For we are all sinners.  We fall short of what God calls us to be and to do in our lives.

This verse promises God’s constant protection, forgiveness, and love, offering comfort and hope which sustains us in our lives.  For when we believe in our Lord, we have the affirmation and confidence that the Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not want.  If we just follow Him, He will lead us in all our ways. God Bless.  Amen.
