Hope in God.

Hope in God is the confident, secure expectation that gets us through life's difficulties.

February 17, 2026

Why, my soul, are you down casted?  Why so disturbed within me?  Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:11 NIV)

Sometimes in life we get downcast—feeling despondent, sad, discouraged, even lacking in hope. We become disturbed, uneasy, restless.  Asking why, why me.  In this scripture the Psalmist encourages us to put our hope in God.

When we put our hope in God, we have a confident, unwavering expectation in His promises, goodness, and love rather than relying on circumstances or personal strength.  We learn to walk in faith and trust that God is working for our good, anchoring our soul in His faithfulness even during difficult, or uncertain times.

As we learn to trust and hope in the Lord, we learn to praise Him in all of life, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  For God is the God of all things, our Savior, our God and because our hope comes from the Lord our joy is restored.  So, turn to God, and hope and joy will follow.  God Bless.  Amen.
