Submit to God's ways, for He cares about you.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7 NIV)
“Humble yourselves” means having a modest view of your own importance and not thinking you are better than others. This applies to our relationship with God because we are not to rely on our own strength and pride but to have humility and submit to God and God’s will for us. This is hard for us because our human nature craves control, independence, and self-reliance. When we Humble ourselves before God we truly understand God is God, not us!
“Under God’s mighty hand” is about God’s timing. This too is hard for us, because we want what we want when we want it. Trusting God is not about us and what we want. It is about God, and us realizing, that God’s help will come at the RIGHT time.
“Cast all your anxiety on him” means we are to release our worries—give all our stress, anxiety, fears and frustrations over to God. When we do this, we learn to trust God and God’s timing.
For God cares about us, deeply. He loves us and wants what is best for us. Thus, when we humble ourselves, trusting in God and God’s timing ,God will help us. He will sustain us and give us strength, hope, courage, and peace—that peace which passes all understanding. Because God cares for us. God Bless. Amen.
