I Thank God.

Who are you thankful for?

September 19, 2026

“I thank my God every time I remember you.” (Philippians 1:3 NIV)

The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the Philippian Church when he was in prison.  Despite his hard times.  Paul felt joy and gratitude.  He valued their teamwork in sharing the good news of Jesus.  Paul was not just thanking them for being nice; he was thanking God for their active partnership in his life and ministry.  This church had supported Paul financially, emotionally, and through prayer.  Every memory of them reminded him that he was not alone in his struggles.

“I thank my God” shows a deep gratitude, relational joy, and a commitment of appreciation of others.  It is without bitterness or envy, jealousy or resentment.  It is a true joy of partnership and love.

So, who are you thankful for?  Who has been there for you through thick and thin?  Who has been loyal, faithful, steadfast, and non-judgmental? Probably a handful of people in your life.  Think about those people—have you told them how much you appreciate them and how thankful you are?  Sometimes we forget to tell others, “Thank you”.

Today, show your appreciation to those who mean so much to you.  Let them know—for one day they might be gone, and it just might be too late.  It is something to think about.  I thank God for my husband, my parents, my children, my daughters’-in-laws, my grandchildren, great-grandchildren, my siblings, my friends, my in-laws, those who support me in my ministry.  Thank you! God Bless.  Amen.
