Jesus is Unchangeable.

The unchanging presence of our Lord.

May 30, 2026

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NIV)

Every day we wake up and there is change, things are different.  We are older.  The weather changes—temperature, wind, rain, snow, hail—conditions shift throughout the day.  The stock market changes.  There are births and death constantly occurring, which can affect us.  Our health changes, sometimes for good, sometimes not so good. The human body sheds and replaces billions of cells daily.  Our emotions change depending on our sleep, stress, and daily events.  A robbery occurs; someone does something nice.  Someone gets mad at you.  A divorce occurs. A marriage with all the hope for the future happens. Seasons come and seasons go; there is always change occurring.

What does not change is our Lord.  He is unchangeable.  Undeniable. Consistent. Unwavering.  Everlasting.  Constant.  Unmovable.  Unwavering. Steadfast.  Enduring.  Always and forever.  This verse reminds us that His character, love, and promises remain completely constant, providing a stable foundation amidst the unpredictable changes in our life.

Knowing this, that Jesus is unchanging provides us with mental, emotional, and spiritual stability.  In a volatile world, His immutability serves as an anchor for our faith.  What is it that overcomes the world our faith.  For God’s word never expires, fails, nor changes based on circumstances.  So, no matter what life throws your way remember Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  God Bless. Amen.
