Joyful, Patient, Faithful.

Hoping and trusting God in all things.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.“ (Romans 12:12 NIV)

“Be joyful in hope” focuses on God, through understanding that when you focus on God not self or your issues joy emerges.  Life can be hard whether it is because of outside or internal forces, but when your foundation is rooted in God—hope is there.

“Patient in affliction” is a call for steadfast endurance and trust in God’s timing when faced with suffering, trials, or hardship.  It is standing firm under adversity, rather than just giving up. It means waiting on God without getting angry, bitter, or trying to force your own quick solution.  It is a belief that your current suffering is temporary and that God is with you in the midst of it.

“Faithful in prayer” means maintaining a consistent, ongoing conversation with God no matter what is going on, for your hope is found in God.  It means continuing to pray even when it feels like God is silent or when answers do not come quickly.

This verse shows us what to do when life is full of frustration and difficulty. Be joyful in hope, patience in affliction, and faithful in prayer. It is a guideline we all need to follow. God Bless.  Amen.
