Praise the Lord for who He is!
May 31, 2026

“While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.” (Psalm 146:2 KJV)
As long as I’m breathing, I’m going to praise the Lord. Why do we praise the Lord? According to scripture and our belief, praising God is both a response to who He is and a purposeful act that transforms the believer.
We praise God for He is inherently loving, merciful, and faithful. His greatness exceeds all things. He is all-powerful, all-mighty, creator of all things. He is Holy. He is wonderful. He is and was and will always be.
We praise God for what He has done. For He created the world and gave us life. He redeems us—through the sacrifice of His son—Jesus the Christ. He sustains us when we do not believe we can go on. For He is our all in all.
When we praise the Lord, our focus shifts. It moves away from personal problems and onto God’s power. Through our praise God defeats discouragement, by inviting peace and hope into all situations, even the most difficult.
As we praise the Lord our mental, our physical, and our emotional well-being shift from self to God. For praise invites the presence of God, establishing His authority and rule over the immediate situation.
So, praise the Lord. Praise Him in the good times, the bad times and the ugly times. Praise Him for who His is. Praise Him for His goodness, His greatness, His holiness. Praise Him, in the morning, during the day, and before you go to bed. Praise Him. It will change your attitude and your day just might go a lot better. God Bless. Amen.
