Pray—pray when you do not know what to

Pray—pray when you do not know what to do!

May 25, 2023

Pray—pray when you do not know what to do! Prayer is a solemn request for help or an expression of praise and thanksgiving, addressed to God. Intercessory prayer is the act of praying to our God on behalf of others. When we pray for others, we lift that person up to God—believing that God will hear our prayer. In the early 1990’s there was a study made on prayer. It consisted of praying for people who were ill, in different hospitals. Not everyone was prayed for and no one who was being prayed for knew this was occurring. This study made national news, because of what it found. The study found that those who were prayed for healed faster, than those who weren’t. Thus, from this study, one could say there is power in prayer. We can all pray. Prayer gives us power to lift up those whom we are worried about, when we know not what to do. “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” (Romans 8:26) Today let us all pray together for our great country, our president, our government officials, our state officials, our military, our police officers, our church leaders, our family and friends. Let us stand united together. 2 Chronicles 7:14 reads, “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” God Bless. Amen.
