Proverbs 13:3 tells us, “He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.” Our words can produce harm or lift a person up. Our words can break a spirit or cause them to soar. Our words can be spiteful and vulgar, or our words can be gentle and kind. So why do we not guard our words when we speak? Why do we say things that can cause another person harm? Why at times do we lash out at the ones we love? Is it because we are hurting inside and want those around us to hurt too? Sometimes we just need to stop, think, breathe, and count to 10, before we speak. It is something to think about. Today, let our words be acceptable to you Lord. God Bless. Amen.
