The definition of consequence is the effect, result, or outcome of something occurring earlier.

August 15, 2023

The definition of consequence is the effect, result, or outcome of something occurring earlier. What this means is that some action occurred and this is what happened because of the action taken. For example, you do not look while changing lanes; the result is a car wreck. You do not complete a very important task on a job; the result is a demotion. You speak mean words to someone; the result is resentment occurs. And on and on consequence occur. The Bible talks about consequences. In Colossians 3:25 it reads, “For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.” Galatians 6:7-9 tells us, “A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Some of our choices are made with little thought, and others are made with careful consideration. Each choice and decision we make has consequences that have both good and bad effects on our lives. The principle lesson is that actions have consequences. Today, think before you speak or do anything, it just might save you from getting yourself into a situation you will regret. God Bless. Amen.
