The Golden Rule is found in Matthew 7:12 it reads, “So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.” Think about these words. If you want or need a hug, go give a hug. If you want or need to talk to someone, go talk to that person first. Do not wait for the person to talk to you first. If you want others to be kind, you first must be kind. If you want joy and laughter in your life, you first must give out joy and laughter. You get the picture. The Golden Rule is positive, it is not manifested in a negative response to others or hard situations. Just because someone is mean or rude or unkind or even hateful we are not to respond in a negative way. Tit for tat, which is an English idiom that means to retaliate with an equivalent action, especially in response to something harmful. (You break my stuff, I break yours. You flip me off, I will flip you off.) Today, show an attitude of kindness in all situations and circumstances, extend love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness in all that you do.
