The Importance of our Stories.

Memories are a succession of moments in our lives.

February 24, 2026

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”(Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV)

Do you remember the day you realized there was a God? Do you remember the day you were Baptized?  Probably, but do you remember the actual time and date that you were Baptized?  Do you remember your wedding day?  What do you remember of that day?  Do you remember the day your child/ren were born, the time, the place, the date, and all the different things that were going on?  Do you remember their first day of school and their last?  Do you remember the day, the time, and what was happening when a loved one died?

These are moments in time that are sacred and can never be taken away. They are a succession of moments, of memories.  They bring joy, laughter, and tears.  The reason I bring this up is do you tell the story of these special moments with others?  Do you share your stories with others?  This is what the Israelites did, the early Christians, they told their stories repeatedly. This is how they taught about their life, their belief in God, their experiences.  It was their foundation, their history, their life.

Sometimes I think we forget to tell our stories and the importance of those special times.  For they are a succession of moments, the moments of our lives.

As I look back over my life, I wish my parents told me more stories of life, God, and traditions.  Today, if you haven’t shared your stories, start. For it is our foundation of who and what we are.  Beloved children of God.  Created in His image.  Loved, forgiven, and accepted.  And isn’t this important to do?  God Bless. Amen.
