The Lord Gives us Stability

Stability comes from the Lord

January 24, 2026

When life feels like a roller coaster.  When it becomes upside down, all twisty turvy, seeming to go very fast, and you feel as if it is out of control, what do you do?  Does it affect your mood, your disposition, your energy?  Does your life get in the way of you being able to center yourself?  Because chaos is everywhere.

We forget, that in the midst of the chaos of our lives, there is stability, which comes from God.  Stability means the state or quality of being steady and resistant to the disturbance that is around you.  Where you will not be shaken because you are centered in God.

Isaiah 33:6a (EVS) says, “And he(referring to God) will be the stability of your times…”  Psalm 16:8 (NIV) tells us, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord.  With him at my righthand, I will not be shaken.”

When we keep our eyes focused on God, not on our self and what we are going through, we become steady, unshakable, and stable.  Psalm 91:1-2 (AMPC) reads, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty.”

How we do this, by going to God, drawing near to Him, praying and praying, trusting that the Lord God Almighty is there and then being still in the Lord.  For when we are still in the Lord, we surrender, we let go of trying to control the chaos around us.  We trust God thus we find stability in the Lord.  The chaos is still there but now we are stable and secure in the Lord. God Bless. Amen.
