The Lord Lights Our Way.

You only need enough light for the next step.

August 21, 2026

“For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.” (Psalms 18:28 KJV)

“God will light my lamp” symbolizes life.  Our life is illuminated by our Lord.  He shows us the way by giving us guidance, confidence, wisdom, understanding, courage, and hope.

“The darkness” represents hard times, sadness, confusion, danger, and sin.

“The light” shows how God brings hope, truth, and a way forward when life feels hard and overwhelming.

Imagine you unexpectedly lose your job or realize your current career path is going nowhere.  You feel completely blind to the future, trapped in the “darkness” of uncertainty, anxiety, and a loss of identity.  You begin to recite this verse as a daily prayer.  Instead of panicking and making a bad decision, you rely upon God to give light to the next step.  A week later, a friend reaches out about a totally different industry you had never considered.  The darkness of confusion lifts, and you receive the “illumination” or clarity to see a fresh, better path forward.

Life happens, if we let God, He will show us the way.  For He lights our path and the unexplained happens.  Our lamp (our life) is being fueled by the Lord God Almighty. God Bless. Amen.
