There was a popular saying in the 1980’s, “Look for the rainbows during the storm.” It means that even when you are facing difficulties or challenges in life, there is still hope and beauty to be found. This signifies the ability to persevere and be resilient through tough situations and circumstances knowing that better times will come. Just like when a rainbow appears after a storm. From the Christian perspective it means the act of actively seeking hope and a promise that better times will come, even in the midst of difficult situations. As the rainbow is seen as a symbol of God’s covenant and mercy. Particularly referring to the story of Noah where the rainbow appears after the flood. It means that God will bring renewal and restoration after our trails. Genesis 9:12-17 describes God setting the rainbow in the sky as a sign of his covenant with us after the flood. Because after the storm, after the difficult times, there will be brighter days ahead. Then in Revelations 4;1,3 reminds of this again, “After these things I looked, and behold, a door opened in heaven…and a rainbow was around the throne…” The rainbow symbolizes hope after the storms of life. God is our hope, our lifeline, our Savior. So, hold on to Him and He will see you through all of life’s difficulties. God Bless. Amen.
