Unchangeable Character of Jesus.

The unchanging nature, character, and faithfulness of Jesus.

August 15, 2026

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrew 13:8 NIV)

Change is all around us.  Every morning we wake up to change. First and for most, we get older.  Then as the day unfolds things happen, life happens.  Good things occur and bad things transpire; all the while change is happening.  When someone says, “I don’t like change” that person might not like it, but it is happening anyway.

The word “change” acts as both a verb and a noun, fundamentally describing the act or process of becoming different.  Noticeable changes in our life: the acceleration of technology, getting a divorce, finding out you have health issues, death of someone you love, loss or changing of a job, moving to a new location, a sudden drop in your finances, when something occurs and you lose your spiritual convictions, when you experience unfaithfulness, these different examples show us that change occurs in our lives daily.

The one thing that does NOT change is Jesus.  This verse shows us the unchanging nature, character, and faithfulness of Jesus across time.  His love, power, and truth do not shift with the passing of time, cultural trends, or changing circumstances.  He is reliable, stable, consistent, through all of time because He does not change.

We, as believers, look to this verse as a source of stability and comfort, knowing God’s promises and nature remain dependable and unchanging.  For God is unchangeable, undeniable, unbelievable, and is ALWAYS there, even in a world that changes daily.  He does not change.  God Bless. Amen.
