We all want approval, whether it is from a parent, a spouse, a sibling, or a friend! This approval is especially important from our parents. When a child, is repeatedly given approval, they build up their sense of value. Sometimes though, we do not get this approval that we seek from our parents, because the parents, do not know how or they never received approval from their parents. These types of parents are not going to give you the approval you need. Thus approval must come from somewhere else. There is someone who can give you the approval you are looking for. That is the LORD God Almighty, our Heavenly Father, for our God can heal our broken heart and give us the approval that we so desperately want. Psalm 118:6-9 reminds us, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The LORD is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.” When we seek the approval of God, we begin to understand our value as a human being. We become confident in our sense of validation. We no longer need outside approval. The direction our live take then honor’s God. If you do not get the approval from your parents, go to God and remember God loves you unconditionally, you are loved. God approves of you, for your are a beloved child of God, created in His image. God Bless. Amen.
