What do you think of when you see

What do you think of when you see these words: deep affection, fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy, kindness, endearment, adoration, desire, yearning…

What do you think of when you see these words: deep affection, fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy, kindness, endearment, adoration, desire, yearning, compassion? What one word comes to your mind? The word is love. The definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection. Which really does not explain nor express what love means, for love is so much more. The best definition of love comes from the Bible. It is found in the New Testament. It is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. This is one of my favorite scriptures. It reads, “Love is patient and is kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoice in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” The true definition of the word love is a verb. It is action. It is in the showing of love that it is manifested and comes to being. Not just in the saying of the three words. Saying “I love you” is important, but there always needs to be action to demonstrate those words. Today, remember as people of God we are called to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and spirit and to love our neighbor as our self. These are the 2 Great Commandments. Today, show love, express love, demonstrate it, don’t just say it. God Bless. Amen.
