Love is many things because you can have a love for your spouse, children, stepchildren, daughter’s and son’s in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren…

What is love? Love is many things because you can have a love for your spouse, children, stepchildren, daughter’s and son’s in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, parents, in-laws, friends, and pets. Each love is different but has some of the same characteristics. Love is something you give freely. It is not about expecting anything in return. It is a gift. The best definition of love comes from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, “Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” Now let us put “I” where love is. “I am patient and kind; I am not jealous or boastful; I am not arrogant or rude. I do not insist on my own way; I am not irritable or resentful; I do not rejoice at the wrong but rejoice in the right. I bear all things, I believe all things, I hope all things, I endure all things. My love never ends.” Are you the definition of this love? Or do you need to work on how you extend your love. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
