What is ruling your life right now?

What is ruling your life right now? Is it the love of money—the getting, spending, and buying whatever you want in life no matter who it effects. Or is the love of power—being more powerful, stronger, better than others no matter what it cost or who you hurt along the way. Or could it be the feeling of pleasure in your life—the feeling of being happy, satisfied, or enjoying YOURSELF at the expense of others? What drives you? What motivates you? When what you want, no matter the cost, drives you more than taking care of yourself, then God is in the back seat of your life. Because SELF is more important than God. Money, power, and pleasure have become the holy trinity of the secular world. There does not seem to be a check and balance in our lifestyle. Sometimes just because you want to do something, say something, feel something does not make it the right thing to do. 1 John 2:15-16 reads, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.” As Christian’s, our desire to love God and serve God must outweigh our desire of self and what we want, when we want it. For we are called to be world changers not world chasers. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
