When I was in 2nd grade, my Sunday-School teacher, I had me memorize The Lord’s Prayer, Psalm 100, and the 23rd Psalm. I can still remember each of these scriptures. To this day, I say them over and over. Each scripture reveals a different emotion or feeling. For example The Lord’s Prayer, teaches you how to pray: “Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.” Psalm 100 shows us that we are to be thankful in all things and to acknowledge our Lord and Creator. It reads, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” The 23rd Psalm tells us, that no matter what is going on in our life, God is with us. It reads, “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me by still waters. He restores my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the LORD forever.” It is such a beautiful and comforting Psalm. I am so thankful for that Sunday-School teacher and her wisdom of teaching me the importance of scripture. Sometimes, all we need to do in life is go to our favorite scriptures and reread them and let power of the LORD God Almighty fill us and sustains us. Today, try rereading the scriptures that touch your heart, it just might make a difference in what you are going through. God Bless. Amen.
