When I was young my mother would say, “Smile—quit pouting—an elephant is going to sit on your lip and it will fall off.” Boy, I would put a smile on my face right away, because I did not want an elephant to sit on my lip. Have you ever notice, how many people frown? Be observant today, look around do you, see all the frowns—or maybe you go around with a frown. Life is too short to pout and feel sorry for “yourself”. Don’t be a frowner. A fun-fact it takes more muscles to frown, about 47 of them. And for smiling, we only use about 13 muscles. Thus, we can say it is easier to smile? So smile, enjoy and make the most out of your day, this very moment you are in, for you do not know what tomorrow will bring all you have is today. “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were big things” (author unknown) Psalm 37:4a says, “Take delight in the Lord…” Isaiah 12:3 reads, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Today, be intentional about making the most of the day, give thanks, and know that the LORD God Almighty is with you always and forever. So smile. Enjoy. God Bless. Amen.
