Work for an Audience of One.

Remind yourself daily that your ultimate "Boss" is God.

“What you do today can improve all your tomorrows.” -Ralph Marston

“When you are enthusiastic about what you do, you feel this positive energy, it’s very simple.” -Paulo Coelho

“A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.” (Proverbs 15:13 ESV)

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart…” (Colossians 3:23 NIV)

Throughout our life we are told little sayings to help us keep going and improve our attitude.  Some of our sayings are secular and others come from the scriptures.  These thoughts suggest that when you approach a task with a positive, enthusiastic, cheerful attitude and with all your heart, you experience profound personal contentment and joy.  Which is true.

As believers in God, we are told, if we keep our eyes focused on God, our life goes better no matter what we are experiencing—good things or bad.  Colossians 3: 23-24 reads, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters…It is the Lord you are serving.” (NIV)

If we can learn to do each task for an audience of “One.” If we can remind ourselves daily that our ultimate “Boss” is God.  Then before we start a task, we pray, “Lord, I am doing this for You.” Invites God to be with us in everything we do.  What a wonderful challenge for us to try.  God Bless.  Amen.
