Who is Lord Over Your LIfe?

Things, other, self, God?

October 11, 2026

“The Lord will be king over the whole earth.  On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.” (Zechariah 14:9 NIV)

This verse speaks of peace and spiritual unity—with God as the one true God—ruler of all the earth and all creation.  So, how do we get there? Where God is the one true Lord!

Here is my question, who, right now, is ruler over your life?  Think about it, what has your attention 90%, 80%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10% of your time?  Is it your job, exercising, going to school, reading, watching TV, playing on your phone, gambling, drinking, drugging, watching inappropriate movie, spending time with your family, your friends, yourself, how about God?  What is dividing your time throughout the day?

We are people of instant gratification—we want what we want when we want it.  Sometimes God does not fit into what we want.  Making God, Lord over your life, is a personal, daily commitment to aligning your actions, thoughts, and values with His will.   It is a daily choice.  It is being intentional about what you allow into your heart and mind, including the media you watch, the conversation you join, and the thoughts you dwell on then acting on those things.

It is learning to cultivate a relationship with our Lord, through prayer and meditation, reading and studying the word, listening to Christian music, thinking of others before yourself.  It is learning to put God 1st, family and friends 2nd, and self 3rd.

When you put “SELF 3rd” your priorities are in alignment with God and what God has called you to be and to do.  If we all did this then the Lord would be King over the whole earth.  It is something for us to strive for—putting God first.  God Bless.  Amen.
