And Jesus said, "Come to me."

Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.

June 14, 2026

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28 NIV)

This scripture is an open invitations to anyone who is weary, exhausted, or overwhelmed.  Which can be when you carry heavy mental burdens (like chronic worry, overwhelming stress, burnout, or overthinking), emotional burdens (deal with grief, anxiety, deep sadness, or carrying unhealed trauma), physical or situational burdens (can be chronic illness, financial difficulties, strained relationships, or grueling hard labor), spiritual burdens (are the weight of guilt, shame, sin, or trying to earn approval through strict religious rules).

Then the scripture tells us “I will give you rest” by giving us relief from the weight of life's burdens.  By going to Jesus, we are able to find what we need to get through the situation at hand. For when life’s burdens overwhelm you, Jesus offers relief from that trap.  Because His grace, hope, strength and courage is enough.  By turning to Jesus.  Walking with Him, He takes on our burdens.  And you realize you no longer have to carry life’s burdens on you own.  He is with you.  God Bless. Amen.
