“And there shall be a shelter and shade from the heat, and a place of refuge, and for a cover from the storm and rain.” Isaiah 4:6 In the early 1990’s, God gave me this understanding. When you are in a severe storm—such as a hurricane which has high and damaging winds, hail, sometimes tornadoes, and lots and lots of rain, it can be very dangerous and destructive. Some people run from the storm, others hunker down, but if you are on a ship, you go into the eye of the storm, where you find peace and calmness, even though all around you there is destruction and mayhem. This is what God asks us to do, when the storms of life are bombarding us. We are to turn inward towards God—where we find peace and calmness—like the eye of the storm. When we enter the eye of the storm of life that is when God gives us courage and understanding to face the storms of life. Matthew 8:26 reads, “He replied, ‘You of little faith, why are you so afraid?’ Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” With God, we can face any storms of life! We just first go to God. God Bless. Amen.
