Anxiety can overwhelm us. Anxiety is a feeling

Anxiety can overwhelm us.

December 1, 2024

Anxiety can overwhelm us. Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Do you worry, feeling overwhelmed and have anxiety about something? Yes? No? When we worry it can stop us in our tracks, putting us in a stuck mode. Where you are not able to move forward and all the while being consumed by your thoughts and worries. Worry does not, nor will it change the outcome of any situation. Worry does not help the situation in any way. In fact, it just makes you miserable. Scripture tells us not to worry, to give our problems to God, to let go and let God. Psalm 55:22 reads, “Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 94:19 says, “When my anxious inner thoughts become overwhelming, your comfort encourages me.” Finally Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Did you know the more you seek God, keeping your eyes upon the Lord, the less you worry, because you cannot focus on two things at once! So, focus on God. He will see you through your worries. It is something to try—it just might help you. God Bless. Amen.
