As adults, we are supposed to be dependable

As adults, we are supposed to be dependable and reliable.

December 28, 2023

As adults, we are supposed to be dependable and reliable. We get up and do what is necessary, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because as adults we have responsibilities and obligations. We do what needs to be done—even when we do not feel like it. Have you seen that commercial for Nyquil? It shows a sick mom going into a room saying “Hey Amanda I have to take a sick day.” Then it says, “Mom’s don’t take sick days they take Nyquil.” That is how it is with adults. You just do what you have to do. Now think about this, can you imagine God taking a sick day? He would say something like this, “Hey sorry to bother you down there on earth, this is God. I am going to take a sick day—so do not come to me with any of your problems or heartaches. OK! And I surely do not want to hear any confusing of your sins.” Sound silly doesn’t it, but it really isn’t! God is the one sure thing in life, even when you do not feel that He is there and that your prayers are not being answered, they are. Sometimes in our humanness, we cannot see the whole picture, because we are so caught up in our self. It does not matter how you are feeling or what is happening in your life. God is with you. Always! The hard part of our relationship with God is learning to trust Him in all situations and circumstances. Remembering, that God does not take time off or call in sick, God is always with us. Joshua 1:9 reads, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” God is there. Believe it. God Bless. Amen.
