Do you ever do something from impulse, being spontaneous?

January 17, 2024

Do you ever do something from impulse, being spontaneous? Or are you a planner and you calculate everything you do? Do you function from your emotions and your heart or are you logical and reason things out before you do something? We all function in different ways, there is no right or wrong way, it is how we function. But when you are impulsive, spontaneous all the time it creates unhealthy behavior. When you are only a planner and calculate all your decisions in life, it too leads you down a path of always being serious and rigid. In life, there needs to be balance in all things. There is a time to plan and a time for fun and being spontaneous. Scripture tells us in Hebrews 11:1 reads, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” Proverbs 25:28 tells us, “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” Proverbs 28:25 says, “To make rash, hasty decisions show that you are not trusting the Lord. But when you rely totally on God, you will still act carefully and prudently.” As people who believe in God, no matter if you are a planner or you do things spontaneously, in all things we are to go to God asking for His direction then trusting God on the outcome, because that is neither impulsive nor logical. It is called faith, you trust in God for His guidance and wisdom. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
