Do you have a memory, an experience, or an action you undertook that you have a deep regret or remorse for doing. When you have a feeling of remorse for an act committed, that is when a person repents of his or her wrongdoing. Sin is ever present in our lives. People sin, make mistakes, do things they should not do. Repentance comes when you realize you have sinned and want forgiveness. When you come to this realization you need to ask for forgiveness and our LORD will forgive. But we have to truly want to be forgiven and then not continue to sin, to be forgiven and exonerated from our sinful acts we have committed. Sin separates us from God. When we sin our relationship with God diminishes. Our relationship with God is made smaller or less because we no longer have our eyes on the Lord but on the sin, the evil we are carrying out. 1 John 1:9 reads, “If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Proverbs 28:13 tells us, “For whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Romans 3:23-24 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Today, make amends with the LORD—repent. For it is an important part of living a healthy life with our Lord. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
